We actually get asked this question all the time! It is true! There are no roads that reach our very small hamlet. Beaver River is approximately 6 tenths of a square mile surrounded by state land and water...not really an island, but still no roads lead here!
We have found that the best way for our guests to get all their gear here, is to bring their car. Our ferry can hold up to 6 cars. We will reach out to you a few days ahead of your reservation to schedule your ferry ride in. Guests are also welcome to bring their own boat or hike in. Be aware though, you will need to walk back and forth to your boat.
Our marina is located at Grassy Point...approximately one mile from our main lodge. It is a public dock and there is no charge.
There is not wifi in each individual cabin.... however we do have wifi in the main lodge. Please feel free to use it at any time. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of Starlink broadband!
Each cabin is equipped with a television and DVD player. Free DVDS are available in the lodge.
Yes...there is no electricity here. We do however, have a generator and an battery inverter system. Cabin guests have electricity through out the day and night. If you use a CPAC machine you should be fine.
Our black fly bug season generally runs May15th-July 4th. Mosquitos can be around all summer depending on the amount of rainfall we receive.
Yes! Beaver River is a perfect place for biking. There are many miles of "dirt" roads here.
Yes and No. We are very careful to not lure bear here by making sure garbage is not left out at night. Once they find it...they will be back for more!
Canoes and kayaks are included with your rental fee! All we ask is that they are returned to the rack when you are finished using them. We also have a large selection of paddles and life preservers.
Yes...you need to bring linens and towels for the cabins. Each bed will have pillows and a mattress pad. You will NOT need to supply the linens if you are renting a motel room. If it is a winter rental...the linens will be supplied for all the cabins and rooms. Please visit the lodging page for the bed sizes! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Generally speaking... we are open 9:00 am-11:00 pm. Everyday.
